Oh Georgia, What Were You Thinking?

I really don’t have much to add to this cartoon. I think it sums up my opinion of the situation pretty well - and probably is fully infused with my biased imagination. The more I researched this story, a picture of a war torn country trying to grow up emerged. And this country thought they’d test their gumption on a much bigger country…thinking they had the backing of an even bigger country. Unfortunately for Georgia, the much bigger country is tied up in two other wars, and isn’t about join the fray.

Poor Georgia…what were you thinking.

PS This is a good example of why not every little country that wants to grow up get immediately accepted into NATO. If you’re going to be part of NATO some responsibility needs to be taken. I find it really hard to believe that if Georgia had consulted with the US prior to their initial action, that they would have been encouraged to act…not now, since Condi has taken the reins from Dick.
