Do Lewd Republicans Make The Usual Suspects?
August 29, 2007
Remember the 1995 Kevin Spacey movie, The Usual Suspects? It’s a great movie, and with news recent released that the Republican Party may be working on a sequel, I couldn’t pass up the chance to draw the next cover art.
For those not familiar with who’s in this cartoon, here’s a quick run down on the line up.
(From left to right.)
1. Ted Haggard
2. Bob Allen
3. Larry Craig
4. David Vitter
5. Mark Foley
Read what you can on these guys (at your own risk and perhaps with a barf bag close by), not because of what they did (Foley being the exception) but because they preached so vehemently against what they did.
Each Friday a Drawing for My Readers
August 3, 2007
Ok…Friday’s are going to be open. Today’s cartoon is the first of it’s kind. I received a request from SmashedFrog for something on Bob Allen. After doing some research, (since I’m not from Florida) I learned a bit more about Mr. Bob Allen. And while everyone is innocent until proven guilty, I had some fun with Florida’s history of voting booths at his expense. Sorry Bob (ok not really).
What is Open Friday
Open Friday will feature drawings for my readers. If you have a topic, an event (national or even local), or something else you think would make a great cartoon, send me an email. Each week I’ll collect the requests and on Friday’s I’ll post a cartoon from the one I feel most inspired by.
Yeah, it’s a great, egalitarian system, I know, but I’m the one doing the drawing.
So email me at drawmesomething@pixelmarx.com.
Also a few guidelines. Simple is best. Coming up with the idea is the part I like. Art direction will find itself on the bottom of the pile. And no requests of private individuals, only public figures, news, or other topics that are a part of the public discourse.
Enough with the blah blah. This should be fun.
P.S. And remember to check back on Friday to look for your request.Â
