Bridge Tragedy, Ted Stevens, Misguided Priorities and Millions for a Bridge to Nowhere

With the terrible tragedy of the bridge collapse dominating today’s headlines, I was reminded of the story of Alaska Senator, Ted Steven’s “Bridge to Nowhere”, a bridge that demanded millions of dollars and stretched to an island of 50 inhabitants. In hindsight, perhaps this budget request was just a bit misguided.
